About

Hi there,

A picture tells a thousand words, but I’ll use this “About” section to share my story (in the third person, no less).

Abel Blanco is a Spanish photographer, cinematographer, and visual editor living in Europe. His work has been featured by media including Outside magazine and the International Business Times. He picked up his first camera when he was in middle school – his dad’s 8mm Canon 814 XL – and has been behind the lens pretty much ever since.

A seasoned storyteller with nearly a decade’s experience working in education, Abel left his position as a multimedia specialist at the International School of Beijing and is now back in Europe. He uses his artistic flair to curate compelling content that appeals to diverse audiences, from creative videos about strategic planning to stunning photography of academics and activities.

Whether capturing young learners’ passion, educators’ professionalism, Mother Nature’s beauty or action sports, Abel’s work exudes defiance and fortitude. Here you can see samples of his work including documentaries, short films, corporate projects, and travel vignettes from some of the 20-plus countries he has visited. Abel prides himself on paying high attention to detail and enjoys exploring the ever-evolving technologies of his craft.

When he’s not out filming or dabbling in graphic design, Abel can be found up a mountain, cycling (there’s a good chance he’s cycling right now), or striving to improve his Chinese.
